1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work or work more efficiently, and to provide analytical information to website operators.

2. What Cookies We Use
pepper-reputation.com is a minimal marketing landing page. We do not use any strictly necessary cookies. The Site functions fully without cookies — no login sessions, shopping baskets, or security tokens are required.
The only cookies we set are analytics cookies, and only after you have given your consent.

Note on Google Tag Manager (GTM): We load Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. GTM itself does not set any cookies. It acts solely as a script loader. At present, only GA4 is loaded through GTM. If we add further tools (e.g., Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Hotjar), this Cookie Policy will be updated before deployment.
3. Third-Party Cookies — Google Analytics
The analytics cookies listed above are technically set as first-party cookies by your browser, but the data they collect is processed by Google LLC under Google’s own terms and privacy policy.
What Google Analytics collects: Pages visited, time on page, approximate geographic location (country/city level, derived from IP address), browser and device type, traffic source. No personally identifiable information is intentionally sent to Google Analytics. We have enabled IP anonymisation in our GA4 configuration so that your full IP address is never stored by Google.
Where data is processed: Google processes analytics data in data centres located in the United States and potentially other countries. Google relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the legal mechanism for transferring personal data from the EEA to the USA.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
4. Cookie Consent
4.1 EU/EEA Residents — GDPR and ePrivacy Directive
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive (as implemented in national law across EU Member States) and the GDPR, non-essential cookies require your prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent before being placed on your device.
This means:
- Analytics cookies (
_ga,_ga_<container_id>,_gid) are not loaded until you actively accept them. They are blocked by default on your first visit. - When you first visit pepper-reputation.com, a cookie consent banner will appear offering three options:
- Accept all — enables analytics cookies.
- Reject all — declines all non-essential cookies. The Site continues to work normally.
- Manage preferences — opens a preference panel where you can toggle categories individually.
- Your choice is saved so the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits (unless you clear your browser cookies, in which case the banner will appear again).
Withdrawing consent: You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the cookie preferences link in the footer of the Site. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that took place before withdrawal.
Legal basis: Processing of personal data through analytics cookies is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent). We do not rely on legitimate interests for analytics cookie placement.
4.2 California Residents — CCPA/CPRA
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA):
- We do not sell personal information collected via cookies and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising purposes. No “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” opt-out is legally required, but we provide one voluntarily via our cookie preference panel.

Because we have no strictly necessary cookies, the “strictly necessary” toggle in the cookie preference panel is shown for transparency but is always off (and cannot be toggled on), as no such cookies exist on this Site.
The “Marketing” toggle is shown as a placeholder for future use. It is disabled and inactive until marketing tools are deployed.
